American Tattoo Society - Now Open on WPAFB

ATS is setting WPAFB on FIRE!

This is not a drill - with the recent opening of the American Tattoo Society’s Wright-Patterson Air Force Base location (#ATSWPAFB), things are heating up in Dayton.

Finishing the week up with clients already booked out through the end of May, the brand new WPAFB shop is surprising more than just those living in Dayton. As the only tattoo shop holding contracts with the DoD, options for ink can be extremely limited near military installations - especially ones in smaller towns. American Tattoo Society is setting the standard for quality, accessibility, and trust within the military community by providing military-connected personnel and their families with an option directly at the heart of their busy lives: on base.

Ohio is just another example of how ATS has built a reputation for consistency and quality work in the tattoo industry. Word about the new shop is spreading like wildfire, and it’s only the beginning. “I’m getting a lot of California vibes from Ohio,” chuckles ATS training manager, Aziel. Although the majority of ATS shops are spread throughout 10 different Army and Airforce bases, most military personnel are unaware of the current tattoo regulations for each branch, and have never even heard of a tattoo shop operating on an installation. Things are certainly changing around here, and it’s only for the better.

With a solid team building the community at WPAFB, we are sure to see nothing less than the best from ATS coming up. Joss and Anna have been working with the Ohio shop since day one - putting their energy and personality into their work with not only ATS, but the military, civilians, and various contractors on base. “They’ve been having an awesome time really becoming part of ATS,” adds Aziel.

Not everyone is cut out for this phase in opening a new shop though. It takes a lot of patience, hard work, and most of all, a willingness to learn and grow. While this is the 12th ATS shop to open nationwide, the team is constantly learning and improving the process with each new location.

Last week, the shop passed their opening inspection with flying colors, inspiring confidence within the systems ATS has in place for expanding throughout the U.S., truly setting the stage for planned OCONUS locations in the near future. Aziel could feel the hype building during this last inspection, which only lends to the promise of big things coming from American Tattoo Society.

Currently, the WPAFB shop has one guest artist, Grant (@tattoosbygrant), available on Wednesdays and Thursdays each week, with talks of another artist coming soon.
